Really, there is more being sold at the moment than I can properly keep tabs on. Hence a rather scrabbled post to tell you that these are up for sale in Nantwich tomorrow.
The lot is a heap of Henrion posters. A big heap.
Sadly, they’re not entirely what they seem. On the plus side, some of them are signed by Henrion himself. The downside is that they are all reprints, done for Staffordshire Polytechnic in 1989 – I think for an exhibition. But interesting nonetheless, if only because they reproduce posters that don’t tend to turn up elsewhere.
If this tickles your fancy, they are being sold by Peter Wilson Auctioneers tomorrow, and come with an estimate of £30-50.
More auctions tomorrow, whether you like it or not.
I’ve got mixed feelings about all this pre-auction promotion…Of course, if you alert me to something I’ve missed it’s great. But if you alert everyone else to something I’ve spotted and I’m hoping has slipped under everyone elses radar it’s not so good! I’m not sure what the answer is…Only discuss items post auction?
It’s a tricky one, isn’t it? And I can completely see the point – we do sometimes keep things quiet because we’re after them too. Not that it works very often. But then if I don’t mention them, you might also miss something.
Perhaps I’d better throw this one open to the floor. then. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?
We were the lucky winning bidders on this lot – we paid a bit more than the £30-£50 estimate!
For a few more images and a potted Henrion history we did a blog post here
Still a pretty good haul though/ And glad to see they have gone to a loving home!
